IF you should loose a HAND

Take a small piece of wood and carve a hand and insert it into the arm

(B) Show's the nail I have used to support the hand when I epoxy it in place (C)  with 5 Minute EPOXY.

After the carving is completed I dip mine in a solution of approxermently 50/50 of boiled Linseed oil and turpenoid.I then let it dry for a couple of days.I find that this will almost give you a nice flesh color on most basswood.Leaving you with just having to add a few high lights when you get to the painting.

PAINTING

Using PASTELS I will scrape off a

small amount into a dish then add water and MURPHY SOAP(as a flow medium ) and paint my carving.

I also use OIL PASTELS at times.

REMEMBER! when trying a new painting method always practice on a scrap piece of wood.
